The Mayor of Kilkee says she welcomes the decision to restore diving equipment in the town, but says Clare County Council over-reacted in taking it away in the first place
Lilly Marrinan Sullivan says the council took amenities away from residents when it decided to remove diving boards from Newfoundout as well as ladders at the Pollock Holes, Burns Cove, Edmonds Point and Georges Head.
The local authority removed the equipment to allow a safety inspection be carried out, but will now re-install it after Irish Water Safety said such a probe would be out it being in position.
A report is expected to be submitted to the council in the next two weeks, but Councillor Marrinan Sullivan says the boards and ladders should remain permanently
