It's reported that security fears may prompt Revenue Commissioners to destroy eight rhino horns seized at Shannon Airport over four years ago.
The horns, which are highly lucrative on the black market in Asia in particular, were seized at Shannon in January 2010, and have since soared in value from about €500,000 to nearly €2,000,000.

It has been suggested that they be put on display in a museum, but the Irish Independent reports that the high cost of protecting them means this isn't feasible.
Speaking to the paper, a Revenue spokesperson refused to rule out the possibility of destroying them.
