The advice from the Gardai is for motorists to avoid Ennis.
Many areas of Ennis are closed to traffic due to flooding and motorists should not unless absolutely necessary come to Ennis.

The road through Gort at Crowe Street is still CLOSED due to flooding and drivers asked to avoid the area
Also the N17 at Claregalway is impassable
N6 – Galway to Loughrea – still impassable at Craughwell – diversions in place and please follow all signs.
Flooding at Labane on the N18 Galway to Limerick Road.

If travelling northbound detour through the village of Labane and if travelling southbound stay on the N18.
