Two people have been killed and two others, including a young boy, injured, following a crash on the Ennis to Kilrush road.
The two car collision happened shortly before 4 o’clock in Bansha, west of Darragh and six miles from Ennis.
The drivers of both cars, a 61 year old man from Limerick and a 40 year old man who lived in Tullycrine in Kilrush, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The wife of the 61 year old man and her young grandson were rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital where their injuries while serious aren’t believed to be life threatening.
The cars were understood to be travelling in the opposite direction when they collided. The Limerick family were returning from their holiday home in West Clare while the driver of the other car was headed in the Kilrush direction.
Several ambulances from Ennis and Limerick attended the scene while a number of others were put on standby.
Fire fighters had to use cutting equipment to release the victims from the cars.
The road was sealed off for up to five hours but reopened to traffic around 9 o’clock.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
