A decision on Roche’s future in County Clare which employs over 300 full and part time staff -is expected to be made next week.
It comes amid speculation that the Swiss pharmaceutical giant is considering shutting down one of two of its facilities , either Clarecastle or another in the US.
A review of operations at its Clare site have been taking place since Roche Ireland suspended clinical trials of a new cholesterol drug, which was due to be manufactured here.
Speaking to Clare FM a spokesperson for the company said that process was still ongoing, however Local Fine Gael Government TD Joe Carey believes a decision will be made next week.
And Deputy Carey hopes the long-standing contribution by Roche employees at Clarecastle will be recognised by management
