Retired members of Clare County Council were honoured last night, in their first return to Aras Contae an Chláir since the local elections.
Among those who returned for the event were Tony O’Brien of Killaloe, Bernard Hanrahan of Clarecastle, Peter Considine from Ennis and Madeline Taylor Quinn of Kilrush.
While presentations were also made to mark the retirement of Flan Garvey from Inagh, Com Wiley from Bodyke and the longest serving former councillor Martin Lafferty of Lisdoonvarna who marked 35 years of service to the council prior to the recent elections.
