Rose of Tralee entourage hits Clare

This year’s Rose of Tralee finalists descend on the banner county this afternoon as part of their National Tour.

The 50 hopefuls from across the globe will visit the Bunratty Castle and Folk Part this afternoon where they will get a baking lesson from the Bean and Tí and also go to the school house to learn some Irish phrases.

The international festival, which is celebrating its 50th year this year, will continue for the rest of this week before the finale to the competition next Wednesday night.

While there’s no Clare rose, one contestant Meagan Murphy – the Boston and New England Rose will be flying the banner flag.

Her grandparents hail from various Irish counties including Clare.
