It’s emerged that more than 200 RTE bosses received pay increases last year – amid plans to cut 300 jobs at the state broadcaster.
Details – released under Freedom of Information to Labour’s Kevin Humphreys – reveal that senior managers got up to 1000 euro each in performance-related pay hikes – however RTE is refusing to outline the exact costs involved.
That’s despite moves to slash hundreds of jobs and increase the TV licence as part of a plan to secure its financial viability.
