Unemployment in Clare's Rural Towns and Villages is to come under the spotlight of a new Council Committee.
Councillors have voted to set up a new working group to identify job creation opportunities to coincide with the government's implementation of the recent Commission for Economic Development of Rural areas report, chaired by GAA star Pat Spillane.

Clare County Council's Chief Executive says government action on the plan is required first, but with a new Rural Affairs Minister recently appointed, Ennis Councillor Johnny Flynn said local action is needed now.
