Ryanair Will Recognise Unions In Bid To Avoid Strike

Ryanair has announced that it has agreed to recognise pilots’ unions in a bid to avert a pre-Christmas strike.

Pilots based in Dublin plan to walk off the job next Wednesday in the row over collective bargaining rights, although there have been conflicting reports on whether Shannon and Cork would be affected.

The airline has now announced that it will recognise pilots’ unions in Ireland, as well as in the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany and has asked them to call off their industrial action.

The airline has been due to publish a list of affected flights on Monday, but will hope that this morning’s announcement will result in no disruption for passengers.
