Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary is in Shannon Airport this morning.
The visit of the high-profile businessman to Clare has raised hopes that the airline will announce new routes at Shannon, having already been responsible for much of its growth over the past two years.

On Friday, Shannon was dealt a blow when Stobart Air announced its closing its base there, and ending its Aer Lingus Regional services to Britain from January 5th.
