Ireland’s new free-to-air digital television service, Saorview is being launched today.

By the end of 2012 the old analogue television signal used by hundreds of thousands of Irish households will be switched off.
In order to make sure these households continue to receive free to air television, they will have to switch to Saorview.
Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Pat Rabbitte will officially unveil the service at RTE in Dublin today.
