Search For Dublin Baby Bodies May Take A Month

A dig to find the bodies of two babies in the back garden of a Dublin home may take up to a month to complete.

Gardaí are to start searching for human remains at the house in South Dublin next week, after a woman claimed her children were buried there several decades ago.

The victim, who can't be identified for legal reasons, claims she was raped by her father and another man, as a child in the late 60s and early 70s.

She also told authorities the children she gave birth to were killed and disposed of in the garden of her family home.

Forensic experts have been brought in to look for evidence and journalist with the Independent.ie, Cathal McMahon, says they're expecting to find something, despite the fact that they're dealing with a cold case:
