The General Secretary of the Garda Representative Association is accusing the Government of sacking Martin Callinan.
PJ Stone says the former Garda Commissioner – who stepped down in March – was removed from office on a political whim.

He also says the Department of Justice should play no role in the appointment of the next Garda Commissioner.
