The High Court has approved a settlement for personal injury damages for the family of the late Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
A sum of €1.3 million has been awarded to Mr. Donohoe’s wife, Caroline Deloughrey from Kilkee, and their two children.
Mr. Donohoe was shot dead while on armed escort duty at Lordship Credit Union in Co. Louth six years ago, and was posthumously awarded a Scott medal for bravery.

A 28 year old man from Co. Armagh has been charged with his capital murder, and is due to go on trial later this year.
