Sexual Assault case against Drogheda Surgeon settled

A High Court test case – involving a patient who alleged he was sexually assaulted by Dr Michael Shine at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co. Louth – has settled for a six figure sum.

Ronan MacConnoran of Ardee Road, Dunleer, Co. Louth sued the 80 year old former orthopaedic surgeon, the North Eastern Health Board and a representative of the hospital for emotional suffering.
