Managment at Shannon Airport have expressed confidence that they will see an upturn in traffic levels through the Mid West for the summer months.
The airport has seen passenger numbers plumment over the past 18 months and in February DAA head David Dillger admitted he didn’t expect Shannon to turn a profit this year but was hopeful for the future.
This is a view expressed by airport managment given the addition of new Aer Lingus Regional Services to Gatwick and Edinburgh, extra Ryanair services and the return of Aer Lingus Transatlantic flights for the summer.
