Officials at Shannon Airport say they’re confident of more positive developments to follow it’s first announcement since it was declared independent.
Flybe is to operate a year-round return service to Glasgow, beginning in May – the three-time weekly service is expected to bring over 10,000 additional passengers through Shannon this year.

The English-based carrier is one of the largest in Europe, but has not flown from Shannon for seven years.
Director of Shannon Airport Mary Considine is hoping today’s announcement could herald a more substantial return by the airline.
