Shannon Apartment Owners Face Hike In Bills For Remedy Works – Report

Apartment owners in a Shannon development are facing even higher bills than had been expected to remedy safety defects.

Issues were discovered at Bru na Sionna last year, and it had been expected that the cost for each of the owners of the 240 units there to allow for remedial works would range from €6,000 to €12,000.

However, the Irish Examiner now reports that these figures are to double, and that owners would be charged interest if they did not pay on time.

The paper also reports that fire marshals are patrolling the development on a 24-hour basis, at an annual cost of €200,000
