Businesses in the Skycourt Shopping Centre in Shannon are calling on Clare County Council to reduce their rates for next year.
The local authority is currently in preparation for the Budget for 2010 and local businesses are appealing for them to cut the commercial rates given the severe financial circumstances of many businesses.
There are 65 outlets in Skycourt with rate charges of between 12 and 18 thousand euro per year.
