Clare’s richest persion has been revealed as Patrick Purcell of Mincon mining equipment firm.
It’s the second year in a row that the man behind the Shannon-based company has topped the Sunday Independent Rich List for this county.
His wealth is now estimated to be around €135 million – a major jump on the €101 million he was valued at last year, and he placed 115 on the list of the top 250.

The Sunday Independent’s Business Editor Samantha Mc Caughren says the company’s shares performed well in the past 12 months.
