A Shannon Councillor is calling on all sides to come together to avert a strike at Element Six.
Last month, staff at the diamond manufactures – formerly known as De Beers – voted 96% in favour of industrial action over changes to work practices.

This action is set to go ahead on the 21st of September, however a source within SIPTU insists they wish to avoid a strike if possible and remain willing to engage with the company.
Clare FM has sought comment on the matter from Element Six.
Councillor Gerry Flynn say any grievences workers have should be addressed but he hopes a strike can be avoided.
