Shannon Councillor Wants Better Communication From Airport Authorities

Calls are being made for better communication between Shannon Airport authorities, local representatives and the general public.

Councillor Gerry Flynn is commenting following Ryanair's announcement that it's to discontinue its twice weekly winter service between Shannon and Paris Beauvais, citing "aircraft capacity constraints".

The airline has also cut the frequency of other routes from Shannon this summer – Flights to Manchester are down from seven a week to five, while flights to Munich have been reduced from three a week to two.

Councillor Flynn says he's disappointed the company hasn't shown more loyalty towards Irish airports, while he believes the airport itself needs to be more open in dealing with public representatives.
