Members of Shannon Town Council want to spend €110,000 of it's money on community projects in the town, before the municipal authority is abolished after May's local elections.
Four of the nine-member Municipal Authority want to allocate €40,000 for a new playground at Drumgeely, as well as €11,000 on the provision of defibrillators in the community.

They also want to spend €30,000 each on the provision of personal alarms and on the refurbishments of Tullyvarraga Community Hall.
