Shannon Custom’s officers have been granted a court order to detain nearly 55 thousand dollars found in baggage belonging to a passenger at Shannon Airport this week.
At Ennis District Court today, Judge Joseph Mangan granted customs officers the order to detain 54 thousand 800 dollars in cash that was discovered on Wednesday.

The money was found in the baggage of the male passenger who’s in his fifties, as he embarked on a flight to the US from Shannon.
The order allows the Customs officers to keep the cash for three months to carry out further inquries.
