Shannon Development is to be asked to make land available for circuses and fun fairs visiting the town.
Following a meeting of Shannon Town Council, a 10 acre site near the Oakwood Arms Hotel has been identified as a suitable alternative to one currently used, which is located behind the Tir na nOg playground.
The recent proposed sitting of a circus there prompted complaints on health and safety grounds from parents of pupils attending the nearby Gael Scoil Donnchada Rua.

The proposed site should solve those issues, and local councillor Gerry Flynn is confident that Shannon Development will make it available
