Shannon's Fine Gael Senator admits he's fearful that a pensions dispute involving some of the Airport's staff could hurt it's recovery.
SIPTU members at the State Airports and at Aer Lingus are due to strike for four hours on Friday morning, but the DAA and Ryanair have sought an injunction against this.
The High Court will issue it's ruling on the matter this afternoon.
Even if the strike is called off, however, hundreds of passengers at Shannon Airport are already facing disruption to their travel plans this Friday.
Ryanair has delayed flights servicing Stansted and Liverpool Airports, while Aer Lingus has cancelled flights to and from Heathrow, and delayed a flight travelling from Boston.
