A Shannon-based Garda is commending the local community in assisting them in saving a man’s life.
Pat O’Connor was one of three Gardaí who were first on the scene at an apartment fire in the Kincora complex in the early hours of yesterday morning.
They broke into the home and managed to pull a man inside to safety before the fire brigade and ambulance arrived to assist.

Garda O’Connor says their rescue would not have been possible without the help of neighbors.
