Shannon Group has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive.
Englishman Matthew Thomas will take over the position at the company in June, after Neil Pakey left the position earlier this year.
Today marks a new era for Shannon Group following the announcement of a new CEO for the company.
Matthew Thomas, a native of Manchester, is due to take over the role in June following the departure of Neil Pakey earlier this year.
Mr Thomas joins the organisation from the Canadian Vantage Airport Group, where he has worked as Chief Commercial Officer.
The 43-year-old has most recently played a leading role in securing the company's 4 billion dollar redevelopment contract at La Guardia Airport in New York.
He has also previously overseen operations at Liverpool, Doncaster and Durham airports.
In a statement to Clare FM, Matthew Thomas says he's delighted to be taking up the position in Shannon, describing the airport as having "an iconic place in aviation history."
