Shannon Heritage has been awarded the seven million euro contract for the new GPO Witness History Exhibition Centre to commemorate 1916.
An Post says the Clare based organisation has been choosen to manage the project due to its experience in running Bunratty and Malahide castles.

The new centre at O'Connell street in Dublin will open to mark the anniversary of the Rising next year – but will be a permanent fixture in the building which was central to the events of that historic year.
It is currently under construction in the inner eastern courtyard of the iconic building and is expected to attract up to 300,000 visitors annually following its opening at Easter 2016.
