The Municipal District of Shannon is holding its first Civic Reception this evening.
"Team Aoibheann" is being recognised for their remarkable fundraising effort on behalf of cystic fibrosis and The Clare Crusaders, while Liam Halford, a young twice-over world champion kick boxer is also being honoured.

The ceremony, which is the highest honour that can be bestowed, is taking place at the Oakwood Arms from 7.30pm this evening.
Team Aoibheann includes Kieran and John McCarthy and Peter Power and Kieran says the civic reception is a huge honour for them.
