A Shannon pharmacist says it’s very difficult to police the so-called “epidemic of codeine addiction” in Ireland.
A study released by the Irish Medical Journal has highlighting concern about those who are overly reliant on over-the-counter pain killers.
While restrictions are in place on quantities that can be bought in one go, the research suggests people may be “codeine shopping” between multiple pharmacies.
