Clare’s best hope of reaching the Olympics says he’s still optimistic of booking his spot in London, despite disappointment in his final qualifier on Sunday.
Shannon’s Chris Bryan missed out on a spot in London in a photo finish, but could yet compete as other countries, especially New Zealand, may opt not to send their qualified competitor.

In an interview on Clare FM’s Morning Focus today, the 22 year old also revealed that his performance on Sunday came despite contracting shingles last week.
Confirmation of his qualification should come by next Monday, but until then Chris says he’s on tenterhooks.
