Shannon Town Council is being urged to take a tougher stance on glass litter louts.
Its claimed more and more people are dumping bottles on footpaths and other common areas posing a health hazard for both residents and pets.
Local Election Candidate Noel Mc Namara says in some cases the glass is maliciously smashed with the intention of causing injury.
