Shannon Airport is being called on to carry out a survey to find out why people choose to fly from Dublin.
Newmarket-on-Fergus Councillor Pat McMahon believes the MidWest facility can be marketed more strongly to boost tourism in and from this region.
Latest CSO figures show a 5% drop in the number of passengers handled at Shannon – with almost 767,000 passing through between January and June.
