The Principal of a West Clare Secondary School has expressed shock after a subatantial sum of money was stolen from the property.
Thieves gained entry to the admin office in St Joseph’s Secondary School in Spanish Point in the early hours of last Friday morning by removing a window, after cutting telephone wires and deactivating the alarm
Two safes, which were bolted into a locked cabinet, were taken, along with a bucket of coins collected during a fundraiser for a charity in Thailand.
