Earlier this week, the number of people with Covid-19 in Irish hospitals was at 357 – the highest number since May.

Today, the figure is at 327.

While there are 43 patients in intensive care.

The national 14-day incidence rate stands at 292 – the lowest the total has been in 10 days.

Chief Clinical Officer with the HSE Colm Henry says there are cause for optimism in the overall figures over the past couple of days:

Despite the reduction nationally, Clare’s overall incidence rate has increased to 255, after 20 cases were confirmed last evening.

The Ennis area, however, remains among the highest incidence rates in Munster – standing at 420.6 after a further 130 cases were confirmed there in the two weeks up to last Monday.
