Sinn Féin Believes Brexit Could Open Door For Reunification

With the British Prime Minister set to outline a 12-point plan on Brexit later this morning, Sinn Fein says it could open up unique opportunities to reunite Ireland.

Indications are that Theresa May will opt for a 'hard' Brexit, which experts say will be very damaging for the economy here.

However, Sinn Fein believes the potential reunification of Ireland could off-set some of that fall-out. 

Speaking ahead of a public meeting in Clare next month, the party's MEP for Ireland South says she believes that Brexit will be 'hard and fast'.

Meanwhile, exporters will be watching closely today as the plans for Brexit negotiations are unveiled.
 
Enterprise Ireland, which supports Irish exporters, says it's been working with companies in a bid to help them diversify and adapt in the wake of last June's vote.
 
Enterprise Ireland points out that there are 600 exporting firms in Ireland with 'significant exposure' to the impact of Brexit.
