Sinn Fein Call On BBC Spotlight To Reveal Source

The deputy leader of Sinn Féin says the makers of a TV programme that alleged Gerry Adams ordered the murder of an IRA informer should go to Gardai with the identity of their source. 

Mary Lou McDonald's comments come after BBC spotlight broadcast an anonymous source who claimed the Sinn Féin President was behind the killing of Denis Donaldson in Donegal in 2006.

Mr Donaldson – a close associate of Mr Adams – had been outed as a British informer some months previously. 

Deputy McDonald's described the claims as "a ball of smoke" but says the programme makers should go to Gardaí:
