SIPTU is maintaining its calls to scrap the 9% VAT rate for the tourism and hospitality sector.
The union say the benefits of the lower tax, which was introduced in 2011, aren't being passed onto workers.

However, many see it as being key for the sectors, with a recent Restaurants Association of Ireland report saying it helped create nearly 850 direct and indirect jobs in Clare alone.
