A Sixmilebridge Councillor is to seek election to the Seanad.
Fine Gael's John Crowe has been nominated by the Irish Road Haulage Assocation for a place on the Industrial and Commerical Panel.

Already, Fine Gael Senators Martin Conway and Tony Mulcahy have confirmed their intention to seek seats in the Upper House, along with Labour's Michael McNamara and the President of Ogra Fianna Fail, Ballyea man Eoin Nealon.
Councillors Mary Howard and Pat Hayes are also understood to be considering throwing their hats into the ring.
Councillor Crowe, who narrowly missed out on a Seanad seat in 2011 says he's honoured to receive the nomination and he believes the more Oireachtas representatives Clare has, the better.
