Ireland’s first ever closed road cycle across County Clare has been hailed as a great success with a 1.5 million euro boost for the local economy.
Over 1800 cyclists took part in the Sky Ride Etape Hibernia yesterday over 82 mile across the county taking in areas such as Ruan, Corofin, Ballyvaughan, Doolin, Lahinch, Spanish Point, Connolly, Kilmaley and Inch.

Ennis man Philip Colleran was first past the finishing line followed by a second Ennis man Eoin Considine.
Cycling legend Sean Kelly who also took part in the event has hailed it as a huge sucesss and believes it will grow from strength to strength in Clare over the coming years.
