Smokers who have help quitting are twice as likely to succeed.
The HSE has launched a new ad campaign today to make people aware of the supports it offers, such as a helpline and a text support service.
Currently around 23 per cent of Irish people smoke and the aim is to make this 5 per cent by 2025.
