Motorists across Clare are being urged to exercise extreme caution after early morning snow showers right across the county.
A number of routes are already reportedly treacherous including sections of the main Ennis to Kilrush road and Ennis to Ennistymon, stretches around Broadford, Clonlara, O’Briensbridge, as well as Doolin to Liscannor.
Clare County Council is urging motorists to drive with extreme caution and to postpone any unnecessary journeys, warning that while priority roads are being gritted, motorists shouldn’t make any assumptions in this regard.
Senior Roads Engineer Tom Tiernan says snowfall this morning could make the challenge of keeping main roads clear much tougher for Clare road crews
