A South-East Clare Councillor is calling on his fellow local representatives to back a motion calling for a poll on a united Ireland.
Following Britain's vote to exit the EU, which saw Northern Ireland vote to stay within the Uninon, Sinn Fein and others have suggested that the people of the six counties be allowed their say on whether they remain in the UK.

Meelick Councillor Cathal Crowe believes Councils throughout the country could now pressure the government to support such a vote.
The Fianna Fáil representative insists the time is right for a debate.
