South East Clare residents gathered in Parteen this morning as opposition to the proposed Limerick Northern Distributor Road continues.
Residents of Parteen, Ardnacrusha and Clonlara are concerned that the proposed 100 million road will split local parishes and, in some cases, divide local farms and even demolish some homes.
Their initial protests have already seen the deadline for submissions on the proposed route for the project extended until March 12th, and locals have been encouraged by Clare County Council to make their feelings known.
