A new €3 million vessel is sailing into Clare this morning, to take tourists from Clare’s west coast to the Aran Islands.
Doolin2Aran’s new ‘Star of Doolin’ 26m ship has been commissioned by the Garrihy family and is sailing in from La Rochelle in France this morning.
She was built there over the past six months and was given her name by famed Clare box player Chris Droney, who’s 94.

It’ll be the fastest, most eco-friendly vessel operating passenger services on the entire west coast and will see journey times to the Aran Islands halved.
