The funeral of murdered Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe takes place in Co Louth today.
Thousands of mourners are expected at St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church in Dundalk for the state funeral – including the Taoiseach, the President and the Garda Commissioner.
The married father of two who’s wife comes from Kilkee was shot dead during a raid on the Lordship Credit Union in Dundalk last Friday night while on escort duty.
A large number of people travelled from the West Clare town for yesterday’s removal of Garda Donohoe’s remains, and many more are expected to do so for today’s funeral.

The Dáil is to be suspended for a number of hours today as a mark of respect and to allow TDs attend the funeral of Garda Adrian Donohoe.
Leaders questions will be taken at 9:30 and business will then be adjourned from 10.30 until approximately 4pm.
