A low level status yellow weather alert has been issued for Clare and five other counties.
Met Eireann is forecasting up to 50mm of rain, with the risk of localised flooding in some areas.
The alert also covers the Galway, Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Mayo areas.

It comes into effect at midnight on Thursday and will last until midnight on Friday.
