Clare County Council admits that it has been unable to figure out the source of a smell reported in the town two weeks ago.
The foul stench was detected in most parts of Clare’s County Town on the afternoon of Tuesday August 13th, and also drifted out to Clarecastle and Tiermaclane.

While the local authority’s Environment Section carried out investigations as to the source of the stench, no cause has been found.
